A390 at Grampound likely to be closed for days
24 December 2022

The A390 at Grampound has been closed because of a road traffic accident. A car ploughed into the town hall causing severe structural damage that presents a continuing hazard to the road just a couple of feet from the building. Building control have classified it as an unsafe building and it is likely that the road will be closed to all vehicular traffic until the building can be made safe. This will, at best, take some days - it will not be easy to get the necessary works carried out over Christmas.

This will mean that the 27 bus service will not be able to run through Grampound. Passengers are advised to catch the 22 service that runs from Truro to St Austell via the clay country villages.

I will update this post when further information becomes available.

Update 26 December
On Boxing Day morning, Cormac have re-opened one lane past the town hall with traffic lights operating. Traffic is relatively quiet today, but when it builds up again after today, there will undoubtedly be delays on this route. Best to avoid it if possible. Bus services should be able to operate normally, albeit with delays.
