Truro park and ride

Truro park and ride opened in the late 2000s with the service running from Langarth, west of Truro, into the city via Treliske, Highertown and the railway station, dropping passengers in River Street and Victoria Square before returning to Langarth. In 2015, the car park and park and ride terminus at Tregurra, east of the city, opened enabling the buses to run right through the centre of the city and providing a continuous shuttle from both sides of the city. The service is a separate service from the rest of the bus network in Cornwall with its own ticketing and pricing. It is a Cornwall Council owned service with First running the buses under contract to the Council.

The main service, PR1, runs Monday to Saturday, not bank holidays. The first buses of the day leave the car parks at 06:30 from Tregurra, 06:45 from Langarth. The last buses of the day leave the city centre for Tregurra at 19:25 and for Langarth at 19:06. Services run at 10 minute intervals in the peak periods and at 15-20 minute intervals for the quieter periods. An additional shuttle service, PR1A, operates between Langarth and Treliske hospital in the morning and afternoon peak times.

Until February 2023, all tickets whether day tickets or multi-day passes were purchased through the ticket offices at each end of the route. As from 6 February 2023, the ticket offices are no longer being used for that purpose. Day tickets must be purchased from the driver on the bus or can be purchased through the First Bus app, see below.

Ticket prices are, as from 1 April 2024:
£2.40 for an adult for an all-day ticket; this will apply Monday to Saturday - there will no longer be a discounted fare on Saturdays.
Family day ticket, up to 2 adults and 4 children (5-15 year) £4.70
Under 5s free
Group of up to 5 adults together, after 9 a.m. £6.00

Multi-day passes can be purchased through the First Bus app. The prices from  1 April 2024 are: 5 days £11; 20 days £40; 60 days £98.60. However, unless you use the park and ride at least 1-2 days a week , you should not purchase these multi-day tickets because of their expiry dates which are as follows:
5 days pass: 60 days
20 days pass: 180 days
60 days pass: 1 year

As an alternative, if you are not sure how often you will use the service, but want to make boarding a little quicker, you can buy individual adult day tickets or family day tickets in advance via the First app and store them on your phone until the days that you want to use them. These purchases are at the normal prices of £2.40 or £4.70 respectively but the expiry dates are a full year ahead. You can buy a single ticket or a number of tickets at the same time. However, for some unknown reason, the group (up to 5 adults) ticket is not shown as an option on the app. See below screenshot of app ticket purchase options.

All Day and All Week and similar tickets purchased on the Cornwall-wide bus network are not valid on this service. Concessionary passes are not accepted on this service.
