After rumours had been circulating for some time that First would be ceasing open top bus services in Cornwall, the company has now confirmed that this is the case. The services ran on the Atlantic Coaster route in the summer between Newquay and Padstow and the Lands End Coaster ran the circular route of Penzance, Lands End, St Ives. It seems that the vehicles have been moved by First to the Dorset area to run on scenic routes in that county.
First say that they will continue to cover the north coast and Lands End routes with covered double decker vehicles but the summer timetables have not yet been finalised. Expect to see those being published in March/April.
