On 20 December, I wrote about how park and ride tickets could be purchased in ticket offices again, see back to the future.
However, it seems that this was a short term initiative that has, once again, been reversed. Ticket machines have disappeared again from the ticket offices and passengers must buy their tickets on the buses or through the First Bus app.
When I queried this with the First employee in the ticket office, he confirmed that the machines were removed after about a month because of “technical reasons”! I never realised how difficult it is to put a machine inside the terminal buildings that could actually produce tickets for use on the buses.
