Special family all-Cornwall all-day ticket for £10 for summer holidays

Last summer (2024) the bus companies offered a special price for a family all-Cornwall all-day ticket of £10. This ran for 6 weeks from Saturday 20 July, see special offer on family fares.

It seems that the bus companies in the Transport for Cornwall partnership are going to do the same again this year, at the same price of £10 starting from Saturday 19 July 2025. The price of £10 compares with the normal price of £16. But there probably will not be the all-week ticket at £30 as family all-week tickets are no longer available.

There has been no official announcement of this offer on the Transport for Cornwall website, or on the TfC app, or on the Cornwall Council website, or on the First website. I cannot find anything about it on Facebook but I have to admit that I struggle to find information on Facebook whose algorithms baffle me. However, the information is included in the story about Newquay park and ride that is running for 6 weeks from 19 July. Tucked away under the prices for the park and ride is the message “Family ticket £10 all day travel across Cornwall for 2 adults and up to 4 children under the age of 16”. No dates are put on this offer, but I am assuming that it will be for 6 weeks as per last year starting on 19 July.

This is a great offer and I hope that many families, or even just two adults travelling together, will take advantage of it. But why the bus companies and Cornwall Council are not promoting it is beyond me. It is due to start tomorrow. Somebody not intending to travel to Newquay is unlikely to click on a story about Newquay park and ride.

The Transport for Cornwall website does now contain a story about summer services that includes the special price for the family ticket. The story is dated 20 July although I don’t think that it was actually live on the site until the following day. The timetable changes in that story are incorporated into the timetables page of this website.
