Cornwall Council announced a few weeks ago that major works will need to be carried out to the cladding on the White River Place development in St Austell (because of Grenfell Tower type cladding being on the buildings). This will involve major scaffolding along most of Trinity Street for 18 months and, during this time, traffic will be restricted to one way working including several bus services.
This will come into effect from Monday 22 June and will affect services 21, 21A, 22, 22A, 27, 51, 271 and 272. These services will, when approaching St Austell, instead of entering the town via Truro Road, travel along Penwinnick Road to the Macdonalds roundabout, then turn into town via South Street. When travelling outbound from St Austell, they will take the usual route up Trinity Street and then Truro Road.
