£2 maximum single fare extended to end of June 2023
19 February 2023

The £2 maximum single fare scheme, funded by government money, is being extended for 3 months. Instead of ending on 31 March, it will now continue until at least end of June 2023.
The government announced the extended funding on 17 February, see £2 bus fare cap.

The scheme is dependent on the bus operators continuing to implement the initiative locally. There has been no confirmation so far that First Bus, Go Cornwall and Stagecoach will be continuing it in Cornwall beyond 31 March but I would expect them to do so. It would be very short sighted of them not to do so.

Just a reminder that the £2 fare can be purchased using tap and cap. Merely tap on with your contactless card or smartphone and tap off when you reach your destination and you will find that you have been charged just £2 for the journey no matter how long it was. See tap and cap.

Update 27 February 2023
First and Go Cornwall have confirmed that they are continuing with the £2 maximum fare until end of June.
