The government is providing funding to bus operators to cap the maximum single fare on a journey to £2 for the three months of January to March 2023. This is additional funding to the monies provided to Cornwall Council for the Bus Fares Pilot.
Confirmation of this funding is in the Cornwall Councillor portfolio holder for transport update to the Economic Growth and Development overview and scrutiny committee meeting scheduled for 10 January. See portfolio holder update.
This should provide a further incentive for people to use buses instead of their cars during this period.
