On 1 January, bus fares in Cornwall rose across the board. The rises included increases in child (under 19 years) fares. The Cornwall all day ticket rose from £5 to £6 and the Cornwall all week ticket rose from £20 to £24.
However, suddenly, without as far as I can see any official announcement from Transport for Cornwall, these fares have been reduced back to £5 for the all day ticket and £20 for the all week ticket. These tickets are available to buy through the Transport for Cornwall app or the First Bus app. These fares are detailed on the TfC website at Children and under 19s fares, although the news item detailing the higher prices that applied from 1 January until now remains online at Bus fares from 1 January.
In addition, all day and all week tickets for 19-25 year old passengers are being brought down to the same price as the under 19 years tickets but they can only be purchased through the Transport for Cornwall App. This was announced by Transport for Cornwall this morning on its Twitter account and is posted on the TfC website. Note that in order to buy the Young Persons (19-25 years) tickets, you will have to upload ID to confirm your age.
If you can’t keep up with all these changes, sorry but neither can I.
