Following the launch of the Young Persons (19-25 years) fare initiative, I recommend that persons in this age group and who use buses at all should consider signing up to the age verification process so that they are able to take advantage of the potential to purchase lower priced tickets.
For example, someone taking one return journey other than a very short one and paying the adult fare would pay £6 for a return ticket. The adult all day ticket is £8.00 but a passenger 19-25 years old can purchase the all day ticket for £5 which is cheaper than the return fare. In addition, if they then make a further journey on the same day, that would be included in the price.
For someone of this age making a return journey five days in a week, they could consider purchasing an all week ticket for £20.
The age verification process has to be done through the Transport for Cornwall app. According to the TfC website, the verification process could take up to 48 hours which is why I recommend that people plan ahead and become verified in advance of purchasing tickets.
See below screenshots of the TfC website and the app and the verification process.
