St Just to Sennen no. 7 service has ceased, but strange new no. 7/7A services will run on a few days
22 April 2026

In November 2025, Go Cornwall Bus introduced a short route GCB7, running Monday to Friday only between St Just and Sennen in West Cornwall, see winter service.

The service has continued through the winter and into the spring. Whilst the timetable has been on the Transport for Cornwall website, it did not appear in the all Cornwall timetable book that took effect from 15 February. When I queried its ommission with Go Cornwall Bus, I was told, "Service 7 was introduced as an uplift for the summer season last year, this will continue until April. The main book covers until September so Service 7 does not appear. The service will operate again over this summer in a similar vein, we will be working with the council to confirm this, and will publish separate network literature to communicate the timetable and route.”

Until recently, the no. 7 service was still showing on the timetables page of the TfC website including for future dates. However, the service has now been cancelled with effect from 17 April, see extract from DVSA website below with notice of cancellation. It has been removed from the timetables page of the TfC website although Go Cornwall Bus has not published on the TfC website any news item about its withdrawal.

But Go Cornwall Bus has now registered new no. 7 and 7A services. They appear on the Traveline website but not yet on the TfC website. GCB7 will run from Penzance to St Ives, and from St Ives to Lands End, and from Lands End to Penzance, but as separate services on the three stages and not as a complete loop in one journey; GCB7A will run in the opposite direction from Penzance to Lands End, and from Lands End to St Ives, and from St Ives to Penzance, again not as a complete loop. However, the services are scheduled to run only on the Saturday and Sunday preceding the late May bank holiday, i.e. 23rd and 24th May, and on the Saturday and Sunday at the end of that bank holiday week, i.e. 30th and 31st May. They will not run on the Monday to Friday of the bank holiday week. See Traveline timetables. These services do not yet appear on the TfC website and no news item has been published about them. Whether they will also run in the summer holidays remains to be seen. Another mystery!

Update

Go Cornwall Bus has now published a story on the News page of the Transport for Cornwall website promoting this new, temporary 7/7A service. But with a different timetable. See Go Cornwall Bus/Citybus timetabling shambles.
