I wrote a few days ago about the three websites under the Transport for Cornwall brand that had different information on each of them, particularly related to ticket prices. I also emailed the managing director of Go Cornwall Bus about this issue.
I am pleased to see that action has been taken. Cornwall by Bus and Legendary Journeys have been deleted from the internet. The Cornwall by Bus website was a bizarre offering launched in August 2024 at the same time as Transport for Cornwall website went offline for a few weeks. But then the TfC site arose from the dead and there seemed to be no purpose to the Cornwall by Bus site. It has now been consigned to history.
The Legendary Journeys website focussed on just a short-term summer promotion aimed at holiday makers. Its purpose ceased by the end of the summer holidays, but it lingered on the internet through the autumn and winter. It has now been laid to rest.
Meanwhile, if you try to access the Transport for Cornwall website, you will find that, as of this morning, it gives you a simple redirect to the Go Cornwall Bus website. I am advised that a new TfC website is due to go live tomorrow, Thursday 9 January. The redirect has been enacted today because the information on the old site was incorrect in a few aspects and, rather than correcting it, it was decided that it was easier also to consign this site to history.
We wait to see what the new site looks like. Will it be the all-singing, all-dancing site that we have been promised for the past few years? We shall find out shortly.
